How it works
DossierPrêt helps you gather every document of a French immigration application without forgetting anything. It rests on one simple rule: every piece of information shown comes from an official source, cited and dated.
Using the service in 5 steps
Find your procedure
By search (the name of a procedure, a card or a document) or by topic. Common names are understood: “10-year card”, “talent passport”, “naturalisation through marriage”…
Specify your situation
Choose your situation among those described in the official pages, or answer your private file's questions: only the documents matching your case are counted.
Prepare your file, free of charge
Gather your documents one by one from the official list and check off what you already have: without an account, your progress is saved in your browser, on your device only.
Have your file checked (optional)
At any time, switch on the automatic check (paid option, per file): it reviews your file and flags missing or expired documents, inconsistencies between documents, unreadable files and the rules tied to your situation. It flags; it never decides.
Fix, then get ready to file
Complete whatever the check flagged, print your checklist (“Print / PDF” is available on every page) and file with your prefecture: filing remains yours to do.
Where the lists come from
The lists are extracted automatically from the official “Foreigners in France” tree (page N19804) of Service-Public.gouv.fr, published as open data by the DILA under the Etalab 2.0 licence. The reading is deterministic — without artificial intelligence — and every official page is traced:
- 53 pages published here, i.e. 53 procedures and 1063 documents referenced;
- 18 pages set aside for a reason verified and documented one by one (a purely informational page, or a document list published only on an online service such as France-Visas);
- every procedure shows its official source, the date of its last official update and the date it was read (last read: 12 August 2026).
What DossierPrêt does not do
- This is not an official website: an independent service, not affiliated with the French authorities.
- It does not provide legal advice and replaces neither your prefecture nor a lawyer.
- It does not guarantee the decision of the authorities: an application that is complete according to the published lists may still be subject to additional requests.
- Your prefecture may request additional local documents: every page says so and links to the official directory.
